Girl Talk Concert

Good Morning!

Last night was the Girl Talk concert so I’m a little tired today. We drove down with six people in my Honda Accord and we got pumped for the concert by listending to Girl Talk in the car. We arrived at the Civic Centre around 6:30 and there was a huge line. Too bad we missed the memo on Facebook that the doors opened at 7pm, and not 6pm like it said on the tickets. I don’t know what it is about waiting but it just sucks the excitement out of everything. First we waited in line, then we had to wait through a local talent performance, but worst of all was the lackluster performance put on by The Arkells which was disappointing.

However, when Gregg Gillis was on the stage everything changed. The crowd came alive and the finally everyone got what they had come for. It’s amazing how one person can control a huge room of people like that, he just has this presence on stage that no one can compete with. He used a lot of new music last night but still stayed true to originals like “Play Your Part” and his mashup of  Notorious B.I.G’s “Juicy” and Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer”. All in all, the show was great thanks to Gillis’s contagious energy and I can’t wait until I can see Girl Talk perform again.

(This is not a picture from last night, but it may as well be. Same scene, just different people.)

Take a look at what I think is worth looking at on the web - a collection of art, music, movies, web design, and whatever else catches my eye. Be pepared for the occasional ramble about my life, as well.
